About City

The city of Zurich, a global center for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).Zurich is a leading global city and among the world’s largest financial centres despite having a relatively small population. Zurich is recognised as the city with the highest living standard in the world, over and over again. The city of Zurich lies in the heart of Europe and at the centre of Switzerland, on the northern shores of Lake Zurich. Zurich is quick and easy to reach, whether by train, plane or private vehicle. Its international airport has direct connections with over 150 destinations. Many museums and art galleries can be found in the city, including the Swiss National Museum and the Kunsthaus.

Zurich has many attractions that include Lake Zurich, Zurich Altstadt, Uetliberg, Bahnhofstrasse, Fraumunster, Swiss National Museum, Grossmunster, Kunsthaus Zurich, Lindenhof, and Opernhaus Zurich. Zurich sites are mostly located within the area on either side of the Limmat, between the Main railway station and Lake Zurich. Zurich is considered as a leading financial center and was ranked as having 11th most competitive financial center in the world, and 2nd most competitive in Europe after London. The reason for economic growth in Zurich is the high quality of life.
